As you all know, The Wendy Hughes Team loves our vendors, almost as much as we love supporting small businesses! Local, family-owned businesses are an important part of our community, economy, and Jacksonville charm. With that, we’d like to highlight one of Jacksonville’s own most successful “mom-and-pop” rooted companies; FreshJax.
FreshJax was founded in 2011 by Jason and Hillary McDonald after one small decision to start living healthier lives led them down a path to entrepreneurship. With Farmers Market roots, they began their business by making organic sauces and spices and selling them at the local farmer’s market on the weekends while attending grad school. As the business began to grow and the special requests came rolling in, they found themselves working nonstop to fill orders. A little courage and a leap of faith and they quit their jobs to take on FreshJax full-time and have been handcrafting gourmet spice blends and sharing simple, delicious recipes since then.
