Turn any weekend gathering into a celebration. Layers of crunchy tortilla chips are buried under black beans dusted with birria spice, juicy shredded beef, and plenty of shredded cheese.
Perfect Balance of Textures
Baked until bubbling, this platter strikes a balance between hot, savory meat, melted cheese, and cool toppings like guacamole and pickled jalapeños.
Good to Know: Layering cheese both underneath and over wet ingredients (like meat and beans) creates a moisture barrier, keeping your bottom chips crisp instead of soggy.
Ingredients
1 large bag restaurant-style tortilla chips
1.5 cups shredded birria meat
2 cups shredded Monterey Jack or Colby cheese
1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained
1 tbsp FreshJax Birria Seasoning, to dust over the beans
Toss the drained black beans with 1 tbsp of Birria seasoning.
On a large baking sheet, arrange half of the tortilla chips in an even layer. Top with half of the cheese, seasoned black beans, and shredded birria meat.
Repeat with a second layer of chips, cheese, beans, and meat.
Bake for 8-10 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and completely melted.
Remove from the oven and pile high with your fresh toppings before serving immediately.
